Aurthor does not collect, store, or transmit your data. Everything you write stays on your device. Your API keys never leave your phone. We have no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. This policy exists to be transparent about that.
Aurthor is an AI-assisted writing application available as a Progressive Web App (PWA). It is designed to help writers plan, draft, and refine content using AI language models provided by third-party services.

Aurthor does not operate any backend servers or databases. We do not collect:

Clearing your browser data or uninstalling the app will permanently delete all locally stored Aurthor data.
Aurthor connects to AI language model providers to power its writing and chat features. These providers include:
When you use the chat or AI revision features, your writing content and messages are sent directly from your device to whichever provider's API you have configured. This transmission goes directly between your device and that provider — it does not pass through any Aurthor server.

To use AI features, you must provide your own API key from one of the supported providers. These keys are:
You are responsible for the security of your API keys. We recommend using keys with appropriate usage limits set within your provider's dashboard.
Aurthor does not use cookies. We do not use any tracking technologies, advertising pixels, or analytics tools of any kind.
The app uses localStorage (not cookies) solely for the purpose of saving your work locally on your device.
Aurthor is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Because Aurthor collects no data from any user, there is no special risk to children's data — however, the app requires paid third-party API keys to function, which are intended for adults.
Because Aurthor does not collect or store any personal data on external servers, most traditional data rights (access, deletion, portability) are handled entirely by you — on your own device.
If you have used a third-party AI provider through Aurthor, contact that provider directly to exercise any rights over data they may have retained.
If this privacy policy changes in a material way, the updated date at the top of this page will reflect that. We will not notify users directly as we have no way to contact you — by design.
